Which tool do you open 50 times a day without thinking?
Y
Indie developer from India building NitroIDE, a next-generation browser IDE designed for zero-latency coding and local-first development.

For me it's my code editor. And the honest version of that question — the one worth sitting with — is: why this one? Not the one with the best feature list, not the one with the nicest marketing. The one your hand reaches for before your brain is even awake.

A tool you open 50 times a day gets judged on a completely different scale. Nobody evaluates its roadmap. The questions become: how fast does it open, how fast can I get to a blank page, and does it get out of my way once I'm there. Everything else is noise.

I learned this building NitroIDE. People don't adopt an editor because it's powerful — they adopt it because the three seconds before the first keystroke disappear. A browser tab opens in about a second. No project files to load, no workspace to restore.

The math is what finally convinced me this is the whole game: 50 opens a day, 3 seconds saved each time — that's 2.5 hours back every week. Not from a killer feature. From friction that simply isn't there. The fastest feature is the one that was never in your way.

So I'll ask it plainly: which tool do you open 50 times a day without thinking — and what tiny, specific thing about it keeps you coming back?
